Taking positive cues from the global market and rising spot demand, lead futures traded higher at Rs 115.90 per kg today as participants widened positions.

Lead for delivery in October traded higher by 75 paise, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 115.90 per kg in a business turnover of 578 lots in futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange.

The November contract gained by a similar margin to trade at Rs 116.85 per kg in 45 lots.

Analysts said besides better demand from battery makers in the spot market, firm global trend in base metals, mainly helped lead to trade higher in futures market.
