M&M recovers towards the end

Mahindra & Mahindra  recovered towards the end and finally ended marginally lower at Rs 531 -down Rs 2. The stock traded 294,150 shares throughout the day.

Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped this morning following news of a strike at its Nasik plant.

According to a release issued to the BSE, workers at the automotive sector of the Nasik plant have gone on strike from May 5, 2009 to protest against the disciplinary action taken against an office bearer of the Employee's Union for alleged acts of indiscipline.

The stock opened flat at Rs 536 and touched a high of Rs 538. Howver, it could not hold gains and slipped to a lw of Rs 521.

It is now down Rs 11 (2%) at Rs 522. Around 27,880 shares have been traded at the counter so far on the BSE.
