Markets extend losses

The Sensex is down 227 points at 20,112 and Nifty has slipped 73 points at 6062.

Meanwhile, the Eurpean markets have also extended its losses the CAC is at 3706 down 62 points and FTSE is down 71 points at 5600. Asian markets also had a bad day, Nikkei ended at 9386 down 200 points, Taiwan weighted ended at 8090 down 86 points and Hang Seng is currently down 85 points at 23,121.

Backhome, all the sectoral indices are trading in the red except IT and Tech.  The Realty index is the top loser,  the index has extended its losses at 3833 dowm nearly 2%, followed by Capital Goods, Metal, FMCG, Consumer Durables and Power indices.

Unitech is the top loser among the Realty stocks, the stock is down more than 2.5% at Rs 92, followed by Peninsula Land, indiabulls Real Estate, DLF and HDIl down more than 1.9% each.

The broader markets continue to trade lacklustre, the Mid-cap index is down 61 points at 8334 and the Small-cap index is marginally down at 10,621.

Hindalco Industries continues to lead ths Sensex losers chart, the stock is trading at Rs 208 down 2.8%, followed by HDFC, L&T, DLF, ACC and Jindal steel down more than 1.9% each.

However, Reliance Communications, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, TCS, Sterlite Industries and Wipro are the significant gainers on the Sensex
