Markets firm on easing Dubai fears

The markets are displaying firm trend on the back of improved global cues. The European markets too have opened on a positive note following easing Dubai fears.

The Sensex is now up 139 points at 17,258. The Nifty is up 32 points at 5,149.

ACC has soared over 4% to Rs 849. BHEL, Infosys and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 2,423, Rs 2,513 and Rs 1,054, respectively.

Grasim has moved up over 2% to Rs 2,447. Sun Pharma has gained nearly 2% at Rs 1,469.

Maruti, ONGC, Larsen & Toubro and Jaiprakash Associates are up around 1.5% each.

Bharti Airtel, however, has shed 2% at Rs 325.
