Markets slip into red; Tata Steel drops 5%

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 10 points at 14,568.

The NSE Nifty is down four points at 4,391.

HDFC Bank has surged 3.6% to Rs 1,149, and ICICI Bank has rallied 2.5% to Rs 656. SBI has added 2% to Rs 1,538.

Mahindra & Mahindra has gained 3% at Rs 535. Hindustan Unilever has moved up 2.3% to Rs 239.

Tata Motors has advanced 2% to Rs 404. ACC, Reliance Infrastructure and ITC are up around 1% each at Rs 593, Rs 1,012 and Rs 190, respectively.

Sterlite has slumped nearly 7% to Rs 581. Tata Steel has plunged 5% to Rs 658.

Tata Power has tumbled over 2% to Rs 1,095. Infosys and Ranbaxy have slipped 1.8% each to Rs 1,625 and Rs 514, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has shed 1.7% at Rs 172. Hindalco and Bharti Airtel are down 1% each at Rs 140 and Rs 808, respectively.

Out of 2,499 stocks traded so far, 1,509 have advanced, 920 have declined and 70 are unchanged.
