Markets slip into the red

The Sensex after a positive opening has slipped into the red with the index down 70 points at 18,899 and the Nifty has shed 19 points at 5,668. In the broader markets, the midcaps are down 0.1% while smallcap is trading flat as comaperd to the Sensex, down 0.3%

On the BSE sectoral charts, Power, Oil&Gas and Capital Goods are the only sectors in the green. IT, Realty and HealthCare has slipped furthur and is down 0.9% each. On the other hand, Bankex, PSU an Consmer Durables are trading flat.

Tata Motors up 1%, Jaiprakash Associates, Hindalco, Reliance Infrastructure,Reliance Communications and NTPC up 0.4% - 0.8% are the major gainers on the Sensex

Sterlite down 3%, Mahindra & Mahindra, DLF, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC and Wipro shedding 1% - 2% form the major Sensex losers.

Marjet breadth is negative. Of the total 2285 scrips traded on BSE, 1105 scrips have declined while 1076 have advanced.
