Markets have continued to hold on to gains. The Sensex is now up 178 points at 16,369. The Nifty is up 51 points at 4,896.
Jaiprakash Associates has rallied 3.5% to Rs 134. Hindalco has gained 3.3% at Rs 155. Tata Steel and Sterlite have added 2% each to Rs 575 and Rs 761, respectively.
Infosys has moved up 2% to Rs 2,580. ICICI Bank and SBI have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 845 and Rs 1,930, respectively.
Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Hero Honda are also in green. ACC, DLF, Tata Power, TCS, Wipro, HDFC and Reliance are the other prominant gainers in the market today.
However, Mahindra & Mahindra has dropped in noon trades. The stock is down marginally at Rs 992.
The BSE market breadth continues to be positive. Out of 2,660 stocks traded, 1,601 have advanced while 982 have declined.
