Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 3.70 to Rs 873.60 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced positions amid supply pressure in the spot market against weak industrial demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October fell by Rs 3.70, or 0.42%, to Rs 873.60 per kg, with a business turnover of Rs 299 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 3.30, or 0.38%, to Rs 859.20 per kg in 338 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to supply pressure amid higher output estimates against low demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
