Mentha oil futures prices traded higher by Rs 1.80 to Rs 1,296.60 per kg today, largely supported by a firming trend at the spot markets on the back of fresh demand from pharmaceutical units.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, February mentha oil moved up by Rs 1.80, or 0.14% to Rs 1,296.60 per kg, with a business turnover of just two lots.
The January delivery edged up by Rs 1.20, or 0.09%, to Rs 1,308.50 per kg, with a trade volume of 96 lots.
Market analysts said fresh demand from pharmaceutical units in the spot market against less arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh mainly helped mentha oil futures prices to trade higher.
