Mentha oil prices recovered by Rs 13, or 1.65 per cent, to Rs 799 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in domestic and export demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for November-month surged by Rs 13, or 1.65 per cent, to Rs 799 per kg, with an open interest of 10 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September gained Rs 2, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 776 per kg, with an open interest of 6,988 lots.
Traders said pick up in domestic and export demand pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures market.
They said restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent.
