Mentha oil surges 2.5% on strong demand

Less arrivals from Chandausi supported the upsurge

Mentha oil futures for February shot up by Rs 31.40, or 2.49% to Rs 1,293.40 per kg in 1,620 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the January contract shot up by Rs 26.60, or 2.12% to Rs 1,279.90 per kg in 277 lots.

Fresh positions by speculators, strong domestic and export demand at spot market supported the trade.

Less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported the upsurge in mentha oil futures trade.
