Menthol down on reduced offtake

Menthol prices drifted by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today owing to fall in demand from consuming units amid adequate stocks. Weakening trend in futures market and increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also weighed on the menthol prices. 

Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices fell by Rs 10 each to finish at Rs 1,390, Rs 1,310 and Rs 1,225 per kg, respectively. Market analysts said reduced offtake by consuming units and weak trend at futures market also put some pressure on menthol prices.
