Menthol remains weak on reduced offtake

Menthol prices fell by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to reduced offtake by the consuming units. Adequate stocks positions, followed by increased arrivals from the producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the prices.

Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices eased by Rs 5 to Rs 905, Rs 885 and Rs 805 per kg, respectively. Marketmen said reduced offtake by consuming units, against increased arrivals from the producing belts in Uttar Pradesh markets led to a decline in menthol prices.

Weakening trend in futures market also put pressure on the prices, they said.
