Menthol rises on fresh buying

Menthol prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today on fresh buying by consuming industries amid tight stocks. Fall in supplies from producing belts and a firming trend in futures market also supported the prices.

Menthol bold crystal, menthol flake and mentha oil prices rose Rs 5 to Rs 915, Rs 895 and Rs 815 per kg, respectively. Marketmen said fresh buying support from pharma and other consuming industries against tight stocks, mainly led to a rise in the prices.

Elsewhere, prices of other chemicals ruled steady on scattered deals.
