Menthol turns weak on reduced offtake

In limited deals, menthol prices drifted by Rs 5 per kg on the local chemical market today due to reduced industrial offtake.

Traders said fall in industrial demand against adequate stocks position mainly helped menthol prices to trade lower.

Menthol bold crystal, flake and oil prices were enquired lower by Rs 5 each to Rs 865, Rs 835 and Rs 780 per kg, respectively.

Ammonium chloride (50 kg), Rs 1,500-2,400, acetic acid (1 kg) Rs 38, ammonia bicarb (25 kg) Rs 450-500, boric acid technical (50 kg) Rs 3,500-3,800, borex granular (50 kg) Rs 1,850-2,100.

Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 1,050-1,100, citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 2,550-3,000, citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 2,500-3,000, camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 320, camphor powder (1 kg) Rs 310, glycerine (1 kg) Rs 115-120, hexamine (1 kg) Rs 80, hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 33-35, mercury (34.5 kg) Rs 57,000, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 865, menthol flake (1kg) Rs 835 and mentha oil (1 kg) Rs 780.
