Mustardseed prices moved down by Rs 25 to Rs 2,847 per quintal in futures trading today due to increased selling at higher levels.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed prices for delivery in July went down by Rs 25, or 0.87%, to Rs 2,847 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,06,670 lots.
Similarly, prices for delivery in June lost Rs 24, or 0.85%, to Rs 2,806 per quintal, with an open interest of 58,230 lots.
Market analysts said traders preferred to book profits at higher levels amid fresh supply in spot markets. Mounting of stocks and reduced offtake by oil mills in physical market also influenced the trading sentiments, they added.
