NDTV has soared 18% to Rs 107 on the BSE on back of heavy volumes. It surged 20% to Rs 108 in intra-day trade.
Till 12.15 pm, a combined 1.87 million shares representing 2.9% of total equity of NDTV change hands on the BSE and NSE as against an average 200,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks.
Elgi Equipments too surged 18% to Rs 144 on the BSE in early morning trade. Currently, the stock trading at Rs 137, with a combined 4.24 million shares changed hands compared to less than 10,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks.
Ess Dee Aluminium jumped 17% to Rs 362 on the BSE. It hit a intra-day high of Rs 372 on back of over seven-fold rise in trading volumes. A combined 1.89 million shares changed hands on the counter so far on the BSE and NSE.
The S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.73% or 196 points at 26,839.
