In a surprise rally, the markets have gained seven per cent in the last seven trading days. During this time, the S&P CNX index has appreciated by 5.3 per cent, thereby resulting in a net gain of Rs 53,000 to the Smart Portfolios benchmark net worth. The money managers, too, have logged in gains in the range of five-seven per cent each over the week.

AJAY PARMAR, HEAD RESEARCH - INSTITUTIONAL EQUITIES, EMKAY
Ajay Parmar continued to remain on the sidelines, while his portfolio has appreciated 5.4 per cent in the net worth. Torrent Pharma, eClerx Services and Jubilant Foodworks hold the highest weightage in his portfolio, while Walchandnagar Industries, Manali Petrochemical and Deepak Fertilisers the least. Parmar’s net worth stands at Rs 10.11 lakh and he holds Rs 1.12 lakh cash.

SHISHIR BAJPAI, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, IIFL PRIVATE WEALTH

Some of his prominent fresh buys are Castrol India, Titan, Suzlon, TIL, Oracle Financial, Max India, IRB Infrastructure and IDFC. On the sell-side trades, Bajpai booked decent gains of 5- 18 per cent on investments in Delta Corp, Prime Focus, LIC Housing Finance and Orchid Chemicals. However, he lost 4-10 per cent on exiting from GTL, Timken India, Reliance Infrastructure, Sintex Industries and Bajaj Finserv.
