Potato down 0.9% on subdued demand

Commodity for delivery in April declined by 0.8%

Potato prices fell by 0.90% to Rs 911 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions due to low demand in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato prices for March contract fell Rs 8.30, or 0.90%, to Rs 911 per quintal, with a business volume of 148 lots.

The potato for delivery in April declined by Rs 7.90, or 0.87%, to Rs 897 per quintal, with a trading volume of 15 lots.

Market experts said traders offloaded holdings as demand declined against higher supplies, pulling down potato prices.
