Potato slide by 1.32% to Rs 804.30 per quintal in futures market today as speculators offloaded their positions after decline in demand at higher levels at the spot market against increased supplies.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in September fell by Rs 10.80, or 1.32% to Rs 804.30 per quintal in business turnover of 126 lots.

The potato for delivery in far month of March also traded lower by Rs 5.90, 0.71% to Rs 830 per quintal in 2 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators after decline in demand at prevailing higher levels against increased supplies from producing region mainly kept pressure on potato prices at futures trade.
