Refined oil futures prices rose by Rs 4.85, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 528.40 per 10 kg today, as traders enlarged their positions to meet the upcoming marriage season demand.
Restricted arrivals from overseas markets also supported the rise in futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, refined soya oil for December delivery rose by Rs 4.85, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 528.40 per 10 kg, with a business volume of two lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November gained by Rs 3, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 522.70 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of 15 lots.
Analysts said increased buying by speculators to meet the upcoming marriage season demand in the spot market, mainly led to a rise in refined soya oil futures prices.
