Reliance Gdr Dips, But Logs Huge Volumes

The Instanex Skindia DR Index remained flat at 513.96 during early trades on Wednesday. Among the global depository receipts (GDR), there were 4 gainers, 2 losers, and 52 remained unchanged.

The GDRs of Reliance Industries were heavily traded in the early session today, registering volumes of around 2,00,000 GDRs. However, the receipt shed over 0.34 per cent to $11.86.

Apart from Reliance Industries, the other loser was State Bank of India (SBI), falling 0.67 per cent to $14.90.

Meanwhile, Ranbaxy rose by 0.67 per cent to $15. Other prominent gainers were Larsen & Toubro (up 2.45 per cent to $7.95), Bajaj Auto (up 1.11 per cent to $10.95) and Hindalco (up 0.08 per cent to $12.75).

On Tuesday, the index eased by 0.29 per cent to close at 514.15.

Indian securities listed on the US bourses settled higher. The American depositary receipt (ADR) of Rediff.com edged up 15 cents to $2.74. MTNL rose 11 cents to $4.52.

However, technology stocks settled lower. Infosys ADR shed 5 cents to $66.35, while Wipro dropped 31 cents to $29.52. Satyam Computer eased one cent to $10.61.

On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 96.53 points to 8013.29, while Nasdaq Composite slipped 17.64 points to 1306.15.
