Rice basmati declines on sluggish demand

Rice basmati prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on sluggish demand against adequate stocks position.

Elsewhere, other grains continued to trade in tight range on buying and selling and settled around previous levels.

Traders said subdued demand against adequate stocks positions led to a fall in rice basmati prices.

In the rice section, basmati Pusa 1121-variety declined by Rs 100 to Rs 4,300-4,800 per quintal.
