The scrip touched a day's high of Rs 176 and finally settled at Rs 173, up 5%.

SAIL has surged 5% in spite of a 18% dip in FY09 net.
The stock opened at Rs 167 and slipped briefly to a low of Rs 166. It surged 5.5% to a high of Rs 173. The stock is now trading at Rs 172, up 5%. Around 7,60,294 stocks have been traded on the BSE so far.
The company announced its FY09 results yesterday. The net profit of the company has decreased 18% to Rs 6,188.41 crore in the year ended March 31, 2009 from Rs 7,548.62 crore in the previous fiscal. The total profit decreased 88% to Rs 46,448.22 crore from Rs 4,18,397.1 crore.
