Saria turned weak and prices fell by Rs 200 per tonne in the wholesale steel and iron market today due to reduced offtake by stockists following fall in demand.

Other steels such as MS angle and garder, however, remained steady in restricted activity. Traders said fall offtake due to heavy rains in the Capital amid adequate stocks position, mainly weighed on the saria prices.

In the saria section, kamdhenu 8-mm, 10-mm, 12-mm and 16-25 mm were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 39,800, Rs 40,500, Rs 39,200 and Rs 37,050 per tonne, respectively.
