Select commodities continue to slide on sluggish demand

Weak conditions continued to prevail for the second straight day, with prices of urad and moth fell by Rs 200 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today owing to subdued demand.

Marketmen said fall in demand at existing higher levels and increased arrivals from the producing regions, pulled down select wholesale commodity prices.

In the national capital, urad dal chilka local, best and dhoya were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,200-6,600, Rs 7,100- 7,400 and Rs 7,200-7,300 per quintal, respectively. 

Moth also declined by Rs 100 to Rs 5,800-6,100, while arhar and its dal dara variety too traded lower by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 4,600-4,700 and Rs 5,450-5,850 per quintal.
