Sensex back in green

The Sensex shed 190 points to 15,408 from day's high, while slipping for a brief while after opening 70 points higher at 15,539 today. The index, however, have recovered and is now at 15,507, up 39 points. The NSE Nifty is now at 4,625, up 16 points.

BSE realty index has posted gains follwed by auto and metal indices. Realty index is up 1.5% at 4,273.

Reliance Communications surged 4.5% to Rs 288. Sterlite has gained over 2% at Rs 648. Sun Pharma has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,206.

Tata Power has declined 1.5% to Rs 1,264.

Among the Nifty stocks, Suzlon and Unitech have gained 3.5% and 2.5%, respectively.

Other gainers are, BPCL, Reliance Capital, GAIL and SAIL.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,220 stocks, 1,409 have advanced and 731 have declined.
