Sensex below 20,000 mark

The markets have continued to trade in the red and is currently trading at a day's low of 19,939. The Nifty too has shed 79 points at 6,002.The broader markets too continue to trade in the red with the smallcap  and the midcap index down 0.4% each.

Among the sectoral indices, Metal and Consumer Durables are the only ones in the green, trading higher by 0.1% each. Realty down 2%, Bankex losing 1.6% are the major losers on the chart.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Hindalco, Tata Steel up 1% each, Sterlite gaining 0.5% and     SBI adding 0.2% are the only gainers on the Sensex.

HDFC,NTPC down  3% each are the top losers on the BSE followed by     Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, ITC and ACC shedding 2% each.

Market breadth very negative. 1801 stocks have declined while 1143 have advanced.
