Sensex crosses 10K

The Sensex has now crossed the 10,000-mark and is now up 171 points at 10,002.

The Sensex has rebounded into green and is now up 62 points at 9,894. Earlier in the day, the index opened 38 points lower at 9794, and touched a low of 9,790. The index, thereafter, had moved up to a high of 9,931.

Tata Motors has rallied 4.8% to Rs 165. ONGC has soared 3.6% to Rs 697.

ACC has surged 3.3% to Rs 530. Ranbaxy and Reliance have moved up 2.8% each to Rs 220 and Rs 1,376, respectively.

NTPC has gained 2.5% at Rs 173. TCS, Grasim and Infosys have advanced around 2% each to Rs 480, Rs 1,197 and Rs 1,122, respectively.

Sterlite has slumped 7.5% to Rs 285. Reliance Infrastructure and HDFC have plunged 4.3% each to Rs 625 and Rs 1,543, respectively.

Reliance Communications has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 232. Tata Steel has shed 2.5% at Rs 222.

Maruti and DLF are down nearly 2% each to Rs 499 and Rs 276, respectively.
