Sensex down 200pts in early trades; DLF drops 7%

The Sensex opened 156 points lower at 9,684, touched a high of 9,696, and has then slipped deeper into red. The index is now down 193 points at 9,647.

DLF has slumped 6.5% to Rs 251. Hindalco has plunged nearly 6% to Rs 57.

ICICI Bank and ONGC have shed 4.5% each at Rs 415 and Rs 703, respectively.

Reliance and Tata Motors have dropped 4% each to Rs 1,158 and Rs 149, respectively. Tata Steel has slipped 3.7% to Rs 184.

Jaiprkash Associates and Reliance Infrastructure have declined over 3% each to Rs 82 and Rs 561, respectively.

Tata Power has gained 1.4% at Rs 763.
