The Sensex continues to be in red and is now at 14,088, down 238 points.
The BSE Metal index is the major laggard. The index is down 3.2% at 10,431.
ICICI Bank, Sterlite and ITC have slumped 3.6% each to Rs 699, Rs 572 and Rs 195, respectively. Tata Steel has shed 3.5% to Rs 388.
Hindalco, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Communications have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 82, Rs 196 and Rs 290, respectively.
HDFC Bank, ACC, DLF, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, Reliance Infrastructure, Larsen & Toubro, TCS, BHEL, Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharti Airtel have declined 1-2% each.
Meanwhile, ONGC has gained 3% at Rs 1,023. NTPC and Grasim have added over 1% each to Rs 194 and Rs 2,168, respectively.
