The Sensex is now down 448 points at 9,391.
Jaiprakash Associates has slumped 11% to Rs 76. DLF has plunged nearly 9% to Rs 244, and ICICI Bank has tumbled 7.6% to Rs 401.
Reliance Infrastructure and Hindalco have cracked nearly 7% each to Rs 539 and Rs 56, respectively. Bharti Airtel has shed 6.5% at Rs 616.
Satyam, ONGC and Hindustan Unilever have slipped around 6% each to Rs 253, Rs 690 and Rs 232, respectively.
Tata Motors has dropped nearly 6% to Rs 146. Larsen & Toubro and SBI have declined over 5% each to Rs 818 and Rs 1,160, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra is down nearly 5% at Rs 340. Reliance and Sterlite are down 4.5% each at Rs 1,152 and Rs 237, respectively.
TCS, however, is up 1% at Rs 532.
The market breadth is negative - out of 2,473 stocks traded so far, 1,648 have declined, 736 have advanced and 89 are unchanged.
