Sensex down 44pts; BHEL gains 3%

The NSE Nifty is down 15 points at 5,022.

TCS has plunged over 7% to Rs 922. Satyam has slumped 4% to Rs 440. Wipro has slipped 3.3% to Rs 439, and Infosys has shed 2.7% at Rs 1,600.

Mahindra & Mahindra has declined 1.8% to Rs 628.

Jaiprakash Associates and BHEL have surged nearly 3% each to Rs 240 and Rs 1,824, respectively.

NTPC has rallied 2.5% to Rs 199. Larsen & Toubro, Cipla and ACC have gained around 2% each at Rs 2,905, Rs 230 and Rs 815, respectively.

ICICI Bank and DLF are up around 1.5% each at Rs 876 and Rs 660, respectively.
