ICICI Bank and Hindustan Unilever have plunged nearly 5% each to Rs 413 and Rs 235, respectively.
Hindalco and Tata Motors have slumped 4% each to Rs 58 and Rs 149, respectively.
DLF has shed 3.5% at Rs 258. Jaiprakash Associates has dropped 2.5% to Rs 83.
Sterlite has slipped 2% to Rs 243. Maruti, SBI and Mahindra & Mahindra are down 1% each at Rs 565, Rs 1,211 and Rs 354, respectively.
Wipro has soared nearly 5% to Rs 260. NTPC and TCS have surged 4.5% each to Rs 158 and Rs 550, respectively.
Infosys and HDFC have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 1,302 and Rs 1,715, respectively.
HDFC Bank has advanced 3% to Rs 1,054. Reliance Communications has added 2% to Rs 225.
The market breadth is negative - out of 2,409 stocks traded so far, 1,349 have declined, 969 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
