Sensex down 80pts in early trades; DLF up 2%

The Sensex opened a tad (two points) higher at 9,637, but soon slipped into red to a low of 9,550. The index is now down 81 points at 9,553.

HDFC Bank has shed 3% at Rs 918, and Bharti Airtel has plunged 2.6% to Rs 635.

ICICI Bank, BHEL and ACC have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 427, Rs 1,443 and Rs 569, respectively.

ONGC, Wipro and SBI have declined 1.3% each to Rs 694, Rs 221 and Rs 1,179, respectively.

Reliance and Infosys are down 1% each at Rs 1,377 and Rs 1,243, respectively.

DLF, however, has gained 2.3% at Rs 164.
