Sensex down over 400pts; Rel Comm drops 8%

The Sensex is drifting deeper into red and is now down 423 points at 10,260.

Reliance Communications has plunged nearly 8% to Rs 238. Tata Steel and Tata Motors have slumped over 7% each to Rs 258 and Rs 230, respectively.

Sterlite, Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti has tumbled over 6% each to Rs 276, Rs 383 and Rs 636, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Grasim have shed 5.7% each at Rs 407 and Rs 1,141, respectively. Bharti Airtel has dropped 5.3% to Rs 685.

TCS, Satyam and Larsen & Toubro have slipped around 5% each to Rs 533, Rs 302 and Rs 819, respectively.

Wipro, Reliance, DLF and NTPC are down around 4.5% each at Rs 283, Rs 1,334, Rs 273 and Rs 145, respectively.

ITC, however, has gained 2% at Rs 172.
