Sensex ends 336pts up

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 16,024, up 336 points.

The NSE Nifty has finally ended (provisional) at 4,787, up 107 points.

The Sensex continues to gain on the back of sustained buying. The index touched a high of 16,028, up 339 points and is now up 334 points now at 16,024. The NSE Nifty is now at 4,782, up 101 points.

Among the sectoral indices, realty and metal indices lead the rally.

Tata Motors has zoomed 8.5% at Rs 550. Jaipraksh Associates and Reliance Communications have soared 5.5% each to Rs 230 and Rs 307, respectively.

Sterlite has surged over 5% to Rs 705. DLF and ICICI Bank have rallied over 4% each to Rs 432 and Rs 775, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has gained 3.5% to Rs 422. TCS and SBI have have added over 3% each to Rs 549 and Rs 1,819, respectively.

Hindalco, Tata Steel, HDFC, Tata Power and Sun Pharma have moved up 1.5-2.5% each.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,858 stocks, 2,262 have advanced, while 559 have declined.
