Sensex ends down 50pts

The Sensex finally ended (provisional) in the red, down 50 points at 14,276.

The Sensex after rebounding is now flat at 14,342, up 16 points.

Grasim has gained 4.5% at Rs 2,238.

Tata Motors and Reliance have added over 3.5% each to Rs 347 and Rs 2,024, respectively.

NTPC, BHEL, ONGC, HDFC and Reliance Infrastructure were up 1.5-2.5% each.

ICICI Bank has slipped 4% to Rs 696.

HDFC Bank and Hindalco have dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 1,486 and Rs 81, respectively.

Sterlite, ITC and Mahindra & Mahindra are down over 2.5% each at Rs 577, Rs 203 and Rs 709, respectively.

The BSE Oil & Gas index is up 2.5%. 

The BSE Bankex has shed 2% to 7,949. The Metal and the Realty indices are down around 1.5% each.

The market breadth is still negative, out of 2,577 shares traded, 1,540 have declined and 963 have advanced so far on the BSE.
