The Sensex has ended (provisional) at 17,541 - down 75 points.
The Nifty ended (provisional) down 15 points at 5,248.

The Sensex is now quoting at 17,524, lower by 94 points, and the Nifty is at 5,238, down 25 points.

The Sensex has slipped further into the red and is now at 17,564, down 52 points.
The NSE Nifty us at 5,250, down 13 points.
DLF has added 4% to Rs 388. Grasim Industies and Sun Pharma have advanced 2% each to Rs 2,741 and Rs 1,573, respectively.
The other prominent gainers were NTPC, Jaiprakash Associates and Larsen & Toubro, up 1% each.
Infoys was the major loser on the Sensex, down 2.5% at Rs 2,464.
HDFC, TCS and Sterlite have slipped 1.5% each at Rs 2,598, Rs 703 and Rs 902, respectively.
The market breadth is positive, out of 2,935 shares traded, 1,817 have advanced and 1,047 have declined so far on the BSE.
Among the sectoral indices, realty index is the only major gainer, up 3% from its previous close. The BSE IT index has declined 2% at 4,956.
VALUE & VOLUME TOPPERS
Satyam Computer has led the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs 149.63 crore. It is followed by Aban Offshore (Rs 137.19 crore), Bombay Dyeing (Rs 131.16 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 110.99 crore) and DLF (Rs 107.91 crore).
Cals Refineries has topped the volume chart on the BSE with trades of 68.92 million shares on the BSE. It is followed by Satyam Computers (13.65 million), Karuturi Global (12.92 million), IFCI (10.48 million) and Unitech (9.73 million) shares on the BSE.
