The Sensex has ended (provisional) at 16,800, down seven points.
The Nifty ened (provisional) at 4,988 - up three points.

The Sensex after moving firm has now pared some its gains and is at 16,852, up 50 points.
The NSE Nifty is at 5,004, up 19 points.
Tata Motors has rallied over 6% to Rs 592. Reliance Infrastructure has gained 5% at Rs 1,332.
ITC, Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever and Jaiprakash Associates have added aroudn 3% each.
BHEL, ONGC, Mahindra & Mahindra, DLF, NTPC, Hero Honda, Hindalco, Reliance, HDFC Bank, Sterlite and ACC are the other gainers.
Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has tumbled 6% to Rs 337. Reliance Communications has shed 5% to Rs 250.
TCS, Sun Pharma and Infosys have dropped 2-3% each. Maruti Suzuki, Larsen & Toubro and Wipro have moved down around 1% each.
The market breadth turns negative, out of 2,835 shares traded, 1,428 declined and 1,304 advanced so far on the BSE.
