The Sensex has extended gains and is now up 284 points at 9,221.
Sterlite and Reliance (RIL) have soared 6% each to Rs 231 and Rs 1,210, respectively.
DLF has surged 5.5% to Rs 236. HDFC Bank has rallied over 5% to Rs 965.
Mahindra & Mahindra, Ranbaxy and Maruti have gained around 4.5% each at Rs 314, Rs 222 and Rs 535, respectively.
Grasim, Jaiprakash Associates and ITC have advanced 4% each to Rs 1,015, Rs 71 and Rs 167, respectively.
HDFC, ACC, Hindalco and BHEL are up around 3.5% each at Rs 1,471, Rs 420, Rs 55 and Rs 1,309, respectively.
Satyam has dropped 2.5% to Rs 236. Infosys has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 1,159.
