Sensex firm in early trades; Jaiprakash up 4%

The Sensex opened 77 points higher at 9,226, and is now up 130 points at 9,279.

Jaiprakash Associates has soared over 4% to Rs 69. Sterlite and Reliance Communications have rallied over 3% each to Rs 276 and Rs 165, respectively.

Tata Motors, Reliance Infrastructure, ONGC and Tata Steel have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 137, Rs 537, Rs 667 and Rs 175, respectively.

NTPC, DLF, ACC, Maruti and Hindalco are up 2% each at Rs 181, Rs 135, Rs 528, Rs 595 and Rs 46, respectively.
