Sensex in green; ONGC gains 3%

The Sensex is now up 28 points at 9,861, after opening 38 points lower at 9,794. The index so far has moved in a range of 101 points—a low of 9,790, and a high of 9,891.

Ranbaxy has soared 4% to Rs 223, while ONGC has gained 3% to Rs 693.

Satyam has moved up 2.6% to Rs 231, and Tata Motors and NTPC have added 2.3% each to Rs 162 and Rs 172, respectively.

Infosys, TCS and Wipro have rallied over 2% each to Rs 1,125, Rs 480 and Rs 240, respectively.

Hindalco and BHEL are up around 1.5% each at Rs 57 and Rs 1,394, respectively.

Sterlite has slumped 5% to Rs 292. HDFC has plunged 4.5% to Rs 1,541.

Reliance Infrastructure has shed 2.6% at Rs 636. Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti have slipped 2% each to Rs 297 and Rs 499, respectively.

Reliance Communications has dropped 1.6% to Rs 235, and DLF is down 1% at Rs 278.
