The Sensex has slipped back into the negative zone and is now down 64 points at 15,148.
ICICI Bank has tumbled over 3% to Rs 715. HDFC Bank has shed 2.5% at Rs 1,233.
Hindalco and DLF have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 140 and Rs 556, respectively.
Tata Power has declined 1.4% to Rs 1,023. HDFC and Reliance Infrastructuer are down 1% each at Rs 2,442 and Rs 1,084, respectively.
Sterlite has gained 2% at Rs 609. Infosys is up 1.5% at Rs 1,627, and Satyam has added 1% to Rs 407.
The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,565 stocks traded so far, 1,281 have advanced, 1,186 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
