Sensex in red, down 47pts; RCom slips 5%

After opening with a positive gap of 290 points at 9,298, the index has pared gains on the back of profit-taking at higher levels. The index has now slipped into red and is now down 47 points at 8,961.

Reliance Communications (RCom) has plunged 5.5% to Rs 206.

Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Motors  and Grasim have tumbled nearly 5% each to Rs 58, Rs 150 and Rs 981, respectively.

DLF, Ranbaxy and Bharti Airtel have dropped over 4% each to Rs 209, Rs 184 and Rs 599, respectively.

Satyam and Wipro have slipped 4% each to Rs 290 and Rs 232, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has declined 3.5% to Rs 771.

SBI and Reliance Infrastructure are down 3% each at Rs 1,106 and Rs 434, respectively.
