Sensex languishes at lower levels

The Sensex after a steep fall of over 300 points it is now languishing at lower levels.

The index is now down 258 points at 11,859

Updated at 1402hrs

The Sensex continues to fall and is now at the day's low - down around 336 points at 11,781.
Sterlite has slumped 7% to Rs 481. Hindalco declines around 5.5% to Rs 66.45.

Wipro, Mahindra & Mahindra and ICICI Bank have dropped over 4.5% each to Rs 361, Rs 491 and Rs 524, respectively.

Reliance Infrastruture and Reliance Communications have tumbled over 4% each to Rs 775 and Rs 229, respectively.

However, Hindustan Unilever is up 1% to Rs 233.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,457 shares traded, 1,313 have declined, and 1,046 have moved up.
