Sensex moves in extremely narrow range; Hindalco slips 4%
The Sensex opened 32 points higher at 8,779. The index has moved in a very narrow range of 90-odd points - a high of 8,817 and a low of 8,727. The Sensex is now up 22 points at 8,769.
Larsen & Toubro and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced over 2% each to Rs 705 and Rs 64, respectively.
SBI has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 1,118. Tata Motors, ICICI Bank nd DLF have gained 1.5% each at Rs 135, Rs 195 and Rs 340, respectively.
Hindalco has shed 3.5% at Rs 49. Sterlite has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 227.
Maruti has slipped 1.7% to Rs 477.
