Sensex off day's high

The Sensex has slipped from the day's high. The index is now up 132 points at 16,938.

The Nifty is up 45 points at 5,031.

All indices, other than IT and TECk, are in the green. The BSE oil & gas, FMCG and power indices are the top gainers.

Tata Motors has surged 4.5% to Rs 583. Reliance Infrastructure and Hindustan Unilever have gained 3.5% each to Rs 1,313 and 289, respectively.

ONGC, Tata Steel and ITC have added 3% each to Rs 1,217, Rs 533 and Rs 252, respectively.

Reliance, Jaiprakash Associates, Sterlite, BHEL, Tata Power, Hero Honda, DLF and Grasim moved up 1-2% each.

Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has shed 4% to Rs 343. Reliance Communications and TCS have dropped 3.8% each.

Sun Pharma, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro and Wipro are the other losers in the Sensex today.

The market breadth is marginally positive. Out of 2,752 stocks traded 1,373 have advanced while 1,278 have declined.
