Sensex off day's low

The Sensex is now at 17,166, down 15 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 5,125, down six points.

The Sensex opened on a subdued note at 17,182, owing to weak cues from the global markets. The index is now at 17,155, down 34 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,120, down 11 points.

DLF and Reliance Communications are the major loser so far on the BSE, down 1.5% each at Rs 378 and Rs 177, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Maruti, Reliance and HDFC Bank have slipped 1% each.

IT stocks like Wipro and Infosys are up over 0.5% each at Rs 644 and Rs 2,393, respectively.

The other marginal gainers include Tata Motors, ACC, TCS and HUL, up over 1% each.
