The Sensex has recovered after touching a low of 14,701. The index is now down 80 points at 14,760.
Ranbaxy has shed 4% to Rs 264. Reliance Infrastructure and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped 3.5% each to Rs 1,254 and Rs 216, respectively.
ACC, HDFC Bank, SBI, Reliance Communications, NTPC and Reliance have dropped 1-3% each.
On the other hand, Sterlite and Mahindra & Mahindra have added 2% each to Rs 677 and Rs 723, respectively.
Tata Steel has added 1.5% to Rs 444. Tata Power, HDFC, ICICI Bank andTCS have moved up 1-2% each.
The market breadth is marginally negative - out of 2,568 stocks traded, 1,317 have declined while 1,184 have advanced.
